CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The driver of a truck involved in a five-car crash in Chicopee Monday evening is facing a traffic charge.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that the driver of a 2004 Ford pickup truck is being charged with failure to stay in marked lanes. There were no serious injuries in the crash, but the truck did end up on its roof, and the driver of another car involved was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Wilk says that witnesses told police the pickup truck driver made a sudden left turn while moving up Memorial Drive toward Montgomery Street, striking a 2013 Honda. The truck’s driver continued on, hitting a curb and turning over at Wells Avenue and Montgomery Street.

It took about two hours before the crash was cleaned up and the roadways were re-opened in the area.

Wilk told 22News that the name of the pickup truck driver is not being released at this time because he has not yet received his citation.
