5 people killed in Middleborough wrong-way crash identified

State Police say Valentein Burson was driving wrong way down I-495, crashed into Kraig Diggs' car

MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) – All five people killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 495 in Middleborough early Monday morning have been identified by Massachusetts State Police.

They are:

  • Valantein V. Burson, 31, of Fall River
  • Kraig A. Diggs, 20, of Paxton and Osterville
  • Jordan J. Galvin-Jutras, 18, of Hyannis
  • Jordan J. Fisher, 19, of Harwich
  • Cory P. Licata, 18, of West Babylon, N.Y.

State police say that Burston was driving her Infiniti coupe southbound in the northbound lane of I-495 in Middleborough when she struck a Mercury Sable driven by Diggs, which had been traveling in the correct direction. Diggs’ car burst into flames following the impact. Galvin-Jutras, Fisher, and Licata were all passengers inside the Sable.

Diggs and Galvin-Jutras were students at Anna Maria College in Paxton, while Fisher and Licata were students at Becker College in Worcester.

Massachusetts State Police are still looking into the circumstances that led up to the crash.
