Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders
According to Tom Cruise’ latest adventure epic, combat in the middle east either turns soldiers into murderous mercenaries, or into a straight arrow action hero known as “Jack Reacher”.
No two ways about it. Long gone are the days when Tom Cruise made important movies. Now, it’s strictly by the numbers aimed at the easy to please action crowd. Cruise talks tough and plays tough as the war hero loner struggling to find his post-war place in the world.
But first he’s got to rid the world of a corrupt general and his thugs.
What will happen to the Tom Cruise car chases once we perfect the driverless cars? It’s not hard following the pre-fabricated storyline. He’s loyal to his lovely former commanding officer, whose being set up to take the fall. “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” follows the straight line heroics formula without injecting anything that might be original or thought provoking.
In other words, Cruise too no chances the audience might consider his action-fest too highbrow. And when he tells Cobie Smulders during their prison escape, “we don’t have time for this”…I’m convinced you’ll be saying the same thing…who has time for this????
Producer Tom Cruise guarantees himself a profitable run by hiring the least expensive, low budget, no name supporting cast.
Why splurge on a “Jack Reacher” dud destined to get only 2 stars.
After so many glittering films during his heyday, Tom Cruise seems satisfied to keep his middle aged legacy strictly on Cruise control.
