Springfield Police Lt. Mark Rolland told 22News, around 4:30 p.m. Friday, a 17-year-old allegedly fired a round of shots into a home near the intersection of Carver and Washington Streets. Luckily, no one was hurt, but he said several neighbors called in reporting the gunshots.

The teen was arrested when the car he was driving was found a short time after the shooting, about a half mile away on Cliftwood Street, Lt. Rolland said. The teen is facing several charges. Another person who was in the car was being questioned, but hasn’t been arrested yet.

Then, around 5:30 p.m., Lt. Rolland said a shot spotter activation went off on Dexter Street. He said police went, and didn’t see a victim, but a few minutes afterwards, someone walked into Mercy Medical Center with a gunshot wound to their foot. No word if the two incidents are related.
