CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – After warmer temperatures these past couple of days, western Massachusetts is in for a wake up call.
After experiencing 70s and even 80 degrees these past couple of days, western Massachusetts is in for a major cool down. The reason for this is a cold front, which is a weather front that brings cooler air to the region when it passes through. Rain is expected through Saturday and as the rain pushes through noticeably cooler temperatures will be left behind, along with gusty winds.
These winds will make the temperatures feel even cooler at times. Making the air feel a good ten degrees below average.
This is well needed rain for western Massachusetts especially since parts of western Massachusetts continues to stay in an extreme drought. A severe drought expanded into Berkshire county.
When it comes to the leaves due to the gusty winds, some leaves might be knocked off the trees. Leaves on top of wet roads can make things slick, its important to take your time out on the roads as well.
