Converse St. in Longmeadow closed due to downed utility pole

Nearby residents can expect sporadic power outages

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A section of Converse Street in Longmeadow has been shut down, due to a crash that brought down a utility pole.

Longmeadow Fire Chief John Dearborn told 22News that the driver was stuck inside the car following the crash on Converse Street, near Althea Drive. Firefighters were able to get the driver, who was unhurt, out of the vehicle.

Dearborn said that Converse Street, from Converse Street to Redfern Drive, will be closed to through traffic for several hours, as utility crews work to replace the pole. He said that there might also be sporadic power outages in the neighborhood as their work goes on.
