Agawam Police Officer placed on paid administrative leave

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Another Agawam Police Officer is on leave because of an alleged abuse of authority.

Agawam Police Chief Eric Gillis told 22News he was notified on May 2nd by the Agawam Police Patrolman’s Association that one of their fellow officers had abused his authority.

The unidentified officer was placed on paid administrative leave the following day.

The Chief said the Mayor Richard Cohen and Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gullini were notified and the case was referred to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office.
