SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 34 year-old man is facing a new murder charge in connection with the beating death of a baby.
A judge had earlier dismissed four indictments against Miguel Fonseca-Colon, after he had ruled that prosecutors did not present statements to the grand jury from the mother and aunt of five month-old Jadamier Cintron.
Jim Leydon, spokesperson for the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office, told 22News that Fonseca-Colon pleaded not guilty Tuesday during his arraignment on the new charge at Springfield District Court. He is being held without the right to bail.
Police say that Cintron died of blunt-force trauma, and had 32 fractures on his body.
