SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after being shot in the city’s Brightwood neighborhood.
Springfield Police Lt. Mark Roland told 22News a man was shot four times on Newland Street just after 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. He said the victim was in critical condition.
When 22News arrived on Newland Street shortly after the shooting, police tape was put up and a section of the street was shut down. The street was eventually reopened, but Lt. Rolland said police were in the area late Tuesday night investigating.
He said there are no suspects at this time.
