F.L. Roberts selling convenience stores, car washes, Jiffy Lube locations

F.L. Roberts, Golden Nozzle names will remain under new company

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield-based automotive services company is making some big changes. F.L. Roberts & Company has agreed to sell its convenience stores and car washes to Nouria Energy, and their Jiffy Lube locations to Atlantic Coast Enterprises.

According to an F.L. Roberts news release sent to 22News, the family will continue to manage Roberts Energy, a supplier of fuel, heating oil, and lubricants. The company will be run by Frank Roberts, great-grandson of the company’s founder. Current President and CEO Steven Roberts is retiring.

Though F.L. Roberts & Company will no longer be managing the stores and car washes, their familiar local names will not be going away, as Nouria will continue to operate under the F.L. Roberts and Golden Nozzle brands. The RewardsPLUS program and the Golden Nozzle Fast Pass will continue for customers, while current employees will be offered new jobs with Nouria.

Atlantic Coast Enterprises, which is taking over the Jiffy Lube locations, is one of the largest franchisees in the Jiffy Lube system. All employees at F.L. Roberts’ nine Jiffy Lube locations have also been offered jobs with the new company.

F.L. Roberts & Company, meanwhile, will maintain their offices in Springfield, and will continue to employ 40 people going forward.
