NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – With temperatures in the mid 70’s it was a about 10 to 15 degrees above average for this time of year. The rail trail in Northampton was busy with bikers and walkers, not just enjoying the warm temperatures but also the fall foliage.
Amherst resident Dennis Rosen told 22News he had to pull over on the side of the road to take a picture of the foliage to send to his kids. “Colors are amazing this year,” he said. “One of the outside benefits of a drought is the reds come through a lot more clearly. But that will change. I’m sure we’ll have our chance for some new weather very soon.”
Almost everyone 22News bumped into that didn’t have the day off said it was just good to get outside and stretch their legs or have lunch. Western Massachusetts is looking at even warmer temperatures headed into the workweek.
