Governor’s Council to address sexual assault and domestic violence grant

BOSTON (WWLP) – On Monday, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito and Undersecretary for Law Enforcement Jennifer Queally will address sexual assault and domestic violence grant funding.

The grant funding is to help 39 community-based organizations and local and college campus police departments. The goal is for them to develop and strengthen prosecution strategies and victim services in cases involving violent crimes against women.

Polito will be announcing the Governor’s Council to address sexual assault and domestic violence priorities for the next year with the launch of five work groups. She will also present a proclamation in honor of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
