Disabled individuals model clothing at charity fashion show

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – An organization helping individuals with disabilities held a fashion show Sunday to raise money to continue its good work.

The New England Business Associates, or NEBA, joined forces with vendors from all around western Massachusetts for the Forever Always Beautiful fashion show at Chez Josef in Agawam. It was high fashion and style, as models strutted their outfits down the catwalk, for the 2nd annual NEBA fashion show.

NEBA, helps individuals with disabilities find employment and be self-sufficient. This year’s theme was FAB, which stands for Forever Always Beautiful. The show encouraged people from all walks of life, including those with disabilities to feel beautiful. Clients also served as models.

A longtime client of NEBA, expressed his gratitude for the organization. Nick Kantany, NEBA Client, East Longmeadow said, “I’d recommend NEBA to anybody it’s a great community and there’s a lot to do. Every year I have fun with it.”

Nick’s been a client with NEBA for 10 years. He works at deli in East Longmeadow, a job the organization helped him get. His mom told 22News, the organization fostered her son’s passion for creative writing, and he’s publishing two books.

NEBA’s CEO Jeannine Pavlak told 22News, the fashion show is expected to raise $8000. For every ticket sold, NEBA will be able to provide an hour and half of services, to their 600 clients in western Massachusetts and Connecticut.
