SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News continues to provide you with more information about a Springfield traffic accident that critically injured a driver and his passenger.
One of them apparently wasn’t wearing a seat belt and he was thrown out of the car by the force of impact hitting a tree at Berkshire Avenue and Cottage Street about 3 o’clock this Saturday morning. The other man needed the fire department’s Jaws of Life to get him free of the wreckage.
Springfield traffic officer Robert Kalin told 22News, both men were seriously injured, when their suspected speeding car hit the tree.
Officer Kalin said the two men both in their 20s are in critical condition at Baystate medical center, but they’ll probably survive their injuries.
