Crohn’s and Colitis walk held at Stanley Park in Westfield

Together, they raised 43-thousand dollars, far surpassing the goal of 27-thousand

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – An awesome turnout Saturday morning at the Crohn’s and Colitis walk at Stanley Park in Westfield. 450 people took part this year, almost double the number from last year.

Together, they raised 43-thousand dollars, far surpassing the goal of 27-thousand. We talked to a woman living with Crohn’s disease who told us this event is about having fun, and finding a cure.

Amy Iellamo, surviving with Crohn’s disease, told 22News, “I myself have Crohn’s disease. I’ve been hospitalized multiple times. I’m real sick. I have a lot of issues, a lot of things that come with it. We need to find a cure.”

The walk kicked off this morning at 10Am and 22News weekday Morning anchor/reporter Kait Walsh served as the emcee.
