Springfield Police: Man arrested in drug raid on Hamlet Street

The residence was raided around 7 a.m. Friday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police arrested a man after a drug raid on Hamlet Street.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News the Hampden County Narcotics Task Force conducted a drug raid at 33 Hamlet Street.

The residence was raided around 7 a.m., and the target of the investigation, Felix Ortiz,  was arrested, said Delaney.

Ortiz is charged with:

  • Trafficking cocaine 36-100 grams
  • Illegal possession of a firearm
  • Possession of Ammo

100 grams of cocaine was confiscated by detectives as well as , a .12g shotgun, ammo, scales, packaging material, and $263 in cash.

Ortiz was arraigned in Springfield District Court on Friday.
