Pet of the Week: Buddy the cat

CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – In this edition of Pet of the Week, we were introduced to Buddy, a 13-year-old Domestic Shorthair Mix cat. Dakin Humane Society’s Executive Director Carmine DiCenso, and Gifts Processor Emily Potter, told us more about Buddy and other events going on at Dakin.

Buddy is a really easygoing fellow who has lived with his family his whole life. That included (at different times) men, women, children, a dog and a cat. Most recently he has lived with an elderly person who had to move into senior housing, and was not allowed to bring Buddy along, so he needs a new family and a new life. Buddy is an indoors-only cat with a bit of a cauliflower ear that will always need to be monitored. He also needs to be coaxed sometimes to eat. Buddy is very friendly, and his family described him as affectionate, a good lap cat, quiet, a bit of a couch potato and an EXCELLENT cuddler. Buddy is one of the select pets at Dakin whose adoption fee has been waived until Sunday, October 16. This guy is a keeper, don’t miss out! Come meet him at our Springfield Adoption & Education Center. He may be shy, but that will melt once you get him home. Prepare to fall in love.
