SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts held a “Spotlight on Developing Alzheimer’s Research” event Thursday night in Longmeadow.
The event was centered around helping people navigate this challenging disease and provide them with resources to stay up to date and informed. Dr. Robert Stern, who held the presentation, said there is one key way the general public can help out.
Dr. Robert Stern, Director, Clinical Core at Boston University told 22News, “If there’s one thing people wanna do, that is to reach out, find studies they can participate in. Whether its prevention studies, treatment studies, for people who already have symptoms, diagnostic studies. There’s a study for everyone but it’s so important for people to participate.”
Over 5 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease.
