Bomb threat leads to evacuation of Legoland in Winter Haven

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — Winter Haven police along with Legoland Florida security are investigating a bomb threat at the Winter Haven theme park.

Police say a bomb threat was made at the property at 11:54 a.m. on Thursday.

Officers began evacuating the theme park and hotel after learning of the threat.

All guests were safely evacuated by 12:43 p.m., according to a Winter Haven Police Department spokesperson.

There have been no injuries reported to staff or guests at Legoland,

Winter Haven Police with the assistance of the State Fire Marshall and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office are searching the property

Legoland released the following statement:

“Earlier today, a bomb threat was discovered on our property.  We have evacuated the theme park and the hotel for the safety and security of our guests and employees, which remains our No. 1 priority.  We are working closely with Winter Haven Police Department to assess the validity of the threat.”

There are no further details at this time.
