Capt. McCabe said that no foul play is suspected

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman was found dead inside a car in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Westfield, Thursday morning, located on Route 20.

Westfield Police Capt. Michael McCabe told 22News a representative of Wal-Mart called police around 10:15 a.m. reporting that there was a body in a car. He said the body was removed by 12:30 p.m., and her name is not being released until the next of kin is notified.

Capt. McCabe said that no foul play is suspected at this time and drugs are also not reported as a cause of death; she appeared to die of natural causes.

Part of the parking lot was closed off while police investigated the area, and was reopened shortly after the body was removed.
