2 cats found in abandoned house brought to Dakin

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Several cats were apparently abandoned in a now vacant home located at 19 Queen Avenue in West Springfield.

West Springfield Animal Control Officer Jessecah Gower told 22News two indoor cats were rescued and taken to Dakin Humane Society in Springfield.Two other outdoor cats are still in the area, and they are trying to catch them.

Gower said that the homeowner is complying, and has been trying to help.

West Springfield Board of Health is investigating the property.
