Early voting in Massachusetts: Where and when you can cast your ballot

Some cities and towns offering voting times on the weekend

(WWLP) – Election Day is now four weeks away, but you can cast your vote much sooner than that. Early voting in Massachusetts begins on October 24.

Due to recent changes in the state’s election laws, Massachusetts residents can vote early for any reason during that early voting time period, which ends on November 4.

Previously, Massachusetts residents could only cast an absentee ballot if they would be out of the area or otherwise unable to go to their polling place on Election Day.

In many communities, voting locations will be open on the weekend during that voting period, for added convenience.

If you do not wish to vote in person, you can fill out an application form with the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office if you wish to vote early by mail.

Election Day itself is Tuesday, November 8.
