VT State Police: 2 western Mass. suspects arrested with 650 bags of heroin

SHARON, Vermont (WWLP) – The Vermont State Police arrested two women Saturday, one from Chicopee and one from Springfield, allegedly in possession of 650 bags of heroin.

Vermont State Police said Shelby Cyr, 24 of Chicopee, and Melyza Rojas, 23 of Springfield, were arrested for felony possession of heroin and false information to law enforcement after a motor vehicle stop. The motor vehicle stop was on I-89 south in Sharon, Vermont.

Officers searched the car after being given consent from Cyr and Rojas, and found approximately 650 bags of heroin in the glove compartment, said Vermont Police.

Cyr and Rojas were released on a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Superior Court on January 30, 2017, said Vermont State Police.
