Paradise City Arts Festival draws thousands of art viewers to Northampton

By Monday night, over 10,000 people expected to have visited the festival

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of artists have been putting their work on display in Northampton all weekend long at the Paradise City Arts Festival. It’s a biannual event, with the festival also taking place on Memorial Day weekend.

The festival takes place at the Three County Fairgrounds. The theme is centered on transportation, featuring exhibits about travel, which include trains, planes, and even a time machine.

Many of the 250 artists participating in this event are local or regional, but some come from outside the U.S.

Linda Post, founding director of the Paradise City Arts Festival, told 22News: “The artists this year come from about 25 states, and we have some from Canada and 1 from Venezuela. It’s not just a New England centric event, it’s a national event.”

Post said in the festival’s 22 years they’ve had visitors from all 50 states and almost every continent. By the end of Monday night, Post expects 10 to 12 thousand people to have visited over the course of the 3 days.
