"Late Night" Takes On D.C.
Tonight "Late Night with Seth Meyers" kicks off a week of shows from Washington DC.

(NBC) “Late Night with Seth Meyers” takes its show on the road for the first time this week.

They’ll be offering up four nights of shows from Washington D.C. beginning tonight at 12:35.

A presidential campaign like no other has been a comedy gift for the crew at “Late Night”, with plenty of chances to tweak both candidates.

The show’s heavily researched “Closer Look” segments have made for even more pointed jabs.

“We try to make sure we’re not saying anything that’s false,” Seth Meyers says. “The best they can do is say we’re not funny, and I take great pride in that.”

While Clinton has visited the show, a Trump appearance early in the campaign fell through and eventually became problematic.

“We’ve continued to tell a large amount of jokes about him, and I think it reached a point where it stopped making sense for either side,” Meyers says.
