Two people robbed in Springfield’s South End

The two victims told police that they had been approached by a group of five people

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two people were beaten with sticks and robbed in Springfield’s South End early this Sunday morning.

Springfield Police Sgt. Erwin Greene told 22News that the attack happened in the area of 51 Fort Pleasant Avenue.

The two victims told police that they had been approached by a group of five people and beaten by what they described as sticks. The victims went to the McDonalds on Main Street for help and were taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center for minor injuries, Sgt. Greene said.

Sgt. Greene said that officers are still investigating.
