Water main break in Longmeadow

Authorities said it wasn't a severe break and the road did not cave in

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Saturday night, Longmeadow suffered a water main break. Longmeadow DPW crews were called just after 5 o’clock Saturday night for a report of water bubbling up through the pavement of Belleclaire Avenue.

Longmeadow Police Sgt. Bill Albano told 22News the road was closed for several hours while the DPW worked to repair the pipe, and water service had to be shut of the several homes in the area.

Sgt. Albano said it wasn’t a severe break and the road did not cave in.

Belleclarie Avenue has since reopened.
