‘Broadway Comes to Springfield’ benefit held at Symphony Hall

The curtain goes up at Springfield Symphony Hall at 3:00pm on Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Supporters of Dunbar Community Center prepare for a major event in the life of this Springfield neighborhood resource, ‘Broadway Comes to Springfield,’ on Sunday and the Saturday of preparation.

The benefit performance at Springfield Symphony Hall fills the stage with award winning performers, many of whom got their start learning their musical craft at the Dunbar Community Center.

Ticket sales for Sunday’s musical extravaganza at Symphony Hall will help sustain the work of this incubator of dreams.

Brian Thomas of the Dunbar Community Center told 22News, “The money that’s being raised will go to the programs for the youth. There are so many programs and it’s been growing the past couple of years. We have programs for the seniors as well.”

The curtain goes up at Springfield Symphony Hall at 3:00pm Sunday afternoon for ‘Broadway Comes to Springfield’ and there are still tickets available.
