Police: Man attacked brother with front-end loader

Peter Emanuel was charged with attempted first-degree assault

BOW, N.H. (AP) — Police in New Hampshire say a man used a front-end loader to attack his brother at a recycling business before driving it toward officers and crashing into a building.

WMUR-TV reports police say 54-year-old Peter Emanuel used the equipment Wednesday in Bow to topple another piece of construction equipment with someone inside it.

When police arrived, they said, he drove it toward them. But he crashed into a building and abandoned the front-end loader. He fled in a vehicle.

Emanuel was arrested later and charged with attempted first-degree assault, criminal mischief and resisting detention. He was being held on $100,000 bail and was in court Thursday.
