Lawmakers met with health care community members about opioid crisis

CHICOPEE, Mass (WWLP) – The Western Mass Substance Abuse Providers Association held a legislative luncheon on Friday.

It was an opportunity for members of the health care community to meet with local lawmakers about the ongoing opioid crisis.

They discussed strategies to coordinate services for people suffering from addiction and get them on the path to recovery.

Corrina Houston from the WMSAPA told 22News, “The biggest issue right now is trying to get access to care as they need it and that’s hard because there’s not a places to go right now. So from detox going into residential home after that.”
