19 year-old killed in Cheshire rollover crash; 4 others injured

The accident happened shortly after midnight

CHESHIRE, Mass. (WWLP) – A 19 year-old man was killed and four other people were injured in an early morning crash in the Berkshire County town of Cheshire.

According to Massachusetts State Police Media Relations, Robert Pearson of Dalton died after being taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

State police say that Pearson was riding in a 2009 Nissan Altima shortly before 1:00 A.M., when the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle on Fred Mason Road in Cheshire. The car went off the road, crashed into some trees, and rolled over.

Pearson died of his injuries, while two other passengers in the car, a 22 year-old man and a 30 year-old man- both North Adams residents- were seriously injured in the crash and are being treated at Berkshire Medical Center. The driver of the car, a 19 year-old man from Adams, and another passenger, a 19 year-old woman from North Adams, received minor injuries.

Massachusetts State Police are still looking into the cause of the crash.
