Town of Lenox to receive $10,000 housing grant

Nine communities statewide awarded $125,000.

BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The state has announced $125,000 in Planning Assistance Towards Housing (PATH) grant funding for the communities of Grafton, Auburn, and Lenox, and to the Martha’s Vineyard Commission. Since the program’s creation in 2014, twenty-four other communities have received $578,000 in PATH funding.

These planning grants help support efforts in planning future housing development and production that focus on the individual needs within that particular community.

The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) oversees the PATH program, a $600,000 fund that helps communities expand housing opportunities through community-based activities on municipally owned sites; changes to land use and zoning; planning for housing and mixed-use development in specific geographic areas; and the implementation of strategies identified in DHCD approved housing production plans.
