Springfield, Mass. (WWLP) – If you’re looking for work this holiday season, the Postal Service plans to hire between 35,000 and 40,000 seasonal workers to help with holiday cards and packages.
According to a news release from the USPS, the Springfield Network Distribution Center wants to hire more than 700 people to help sort and process thousands of packages that arrive between November and January; and the Hartford Processing and Distribution Center wants to hire more than 200 people to help process cards, letters and packages.
To apply for a season position, go to usps.com and click on “careers” under “USPS JOBS” at the bottom left of the page. The news release states that the application process takes about two hours to complete, and you must use a computer with Adobe PDF Reader installed.
The news release added that some Postal Service seasonal employees might have an opportunity for permanent work. Background checks and drug screening are required.
