(CNN) – It takes less than twenty seconds for these two strangers on a south Seattle doorstep to realize they’re not alone. Not only a camera, but someone watching on a cell phone.
That someone was resident Zac Johnson. He said, “As soon as I saw them I definitely wanted to talk to them.”
Johnson installed this motion-detecting doorbell after two break-ins at his home in Rainier Valley.
On Thursday, his $175 investment paid off. It alerted him, while running errands, that he had two unwanted visitors at his door.
Johnson said, “I can capture anybody that’s coming to my front door or in front of my house.”
Not only that, but he can talk back, which turned heads and sent the two men running.
Johnson explained, “I didn’t really know what to say. I just said what came to my mind, like, ‘hey, I see you,’ and they just took off.”
He’s shared the videos with police – and online – where they have 20-thousand views.
