SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – MGM Springfield started the process for people searching for a job at their $950 million resort casino expected to open in September 2018.
MGM Springfield is already eager to start building their 3,000 employee workforce for the resort casino slated to be open 23 months from now.
Wednesday, MGM Springfield invited anyone interested to a Career Launch event at the MassMutual Center. City, state, and other community businesses were among over a hundred western Massachusetts residents in attendance. They received information about the recruitment process, timeline and skill requirements. The jobs range from bartenders, waitresses, dealers, to hundreds of others including engineers, graphic artists, sales managers, event planners and lawyers.
MGM Springfield, President told 22News, “We want a lot of Springfield residents to be a part of the MGM family and we want western Mass to be represented. So we can’t start that early enough and we want to provide the resources and training to make sure they know what the opportunities are.”
Tamon Byrd, of Holyoke said, “I’m here basically to try to you know to get information on how to land a cooking job at the MGM industry and just trying to find a career in the casino business.”
