Family is homeless after house fire in Feeding Hills

Firefighters controlled the fire within 30 minutes

FEEDING HILLS, Mass. (WWLP) – Firefighters were able to quickly put out a house fire, Tuesday afternoon, in the Feeding Hills section of Agawam.

Agawam Fire Chief Alan Sirois told 22News the department was called to a house fire at 77 Nicole Terrace around 12:36 p.m. Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the home, which is on a side street that runs parallel to Route 57 (Southwick Street).

Firefighters controlled the fire by 1:00 p.m. Chief Sirois said the house suffered smoke and fire damage. Agawam police and fire, and members of the State Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the cause of the fire.

There were no reports of any injuries. Chief Sirois said the family wouldn’t be able to stay in the house Tuesday night, and they declined help from the American Red Cross.
