BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) – Five months have gone by and still no working group has been created to study the plan to bring venomous rattlesnakes to the Quabbin Reservoir.

After residents called for more transparency, state leaders promised in May 2016 to listen to alternatives and begin working groups to study the proposed location. The state has yet to advance their proposal, which has many resident frustrated, asking for more information.

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs said the delay is because they’re still working to determine the direction and composition of the working group. Although, in mid-September, they told 22News plans had already been finalized.
