WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The ribbon has been cut, and they are now open for business! Fathers & Sons opened their $15 million, state-of-the-art Audi and Volkswagen dealerships in West Springfield Monday morning.
West Springfield Mayor Will Reichelt was on hand for the unveiling of the new dealerships, located at 434 Memorial Avenue. The dealerships share the same 50,000 square foot building, but the two different brands have separate showrooms. They also have different names: the Audi dealership is now known as “Audi West Springfield,” while the Volkswagen dealer remains “Fathers & Sons Volkswagen.”
Damon Cartelli, President and General Manager of Fathers & Sons, told 22News that the idea behind this big investment is to give customers the experience that they expect from Volkswagen or Audi.
“I think the expectation now when you come to buy or service a vehicle has been so elevated by everyone else and the manufacturers, that we really wanted to have a state-of-the-art and competitive facility,” Cartelli said.
The new Volkswagen and Audi dealerships also mean a change for the other brand of new cars that Fathers & Sons sells. Volvo is now the only brand sold out of their dealership at 949 Memorial Avenue. That makes it the largest dedicated Volvo dealership in the entire country.
