EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Easthampton’s water restrictions are still very much in effect, even though some residents may not know it.
The city is asking residents to limit their water use. This includes using sprinklers and washing vehicles only once a day before 9:00am or after 5:00pm.
The ban has been in effect since July.
Easthampton residents believe the city could do a better job of promoting that the ban is still in effect.
Mark Mazolla told 22News, “In other towns like Amherst, they’ve done a better job of putting out signage, things that are very public without necessarily relying on the news media.”
The city says it will notify residents when the ban is lifted. Any person found violating this water use restriction is subject to a fine.
