Multiple vehicle break-ins in Longmeadow

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Police in Longmeadow are warning residents to lock up their vehicles.

Longmeadow Police Sgt. Bill Albano told 22News there were six vehicles broken into in the area of Hazlewood Avenue between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. In all cases, the vehicles were left unlocked.

Sgt. Albano said no windows were smashed and nothing was reported stolen from any of the vehicles.

At one point, police approached a suspect, who ran off and was able to escape police — despite the help of police dogs from Springfield.
