SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two alleged drug dealers and one of their accused customers were arrested Wednesday, after Springfield police allegedly caught them in the act.

According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, Jeffery Gonzalez, 38, and Juan Colon, 42, both of Springfield had 25 bags or heroin and 16 small rocks of crack cocaine on them when they were arrested.

Delaney says that police had received complaints about “open air” drug selling on Orchard Street in the city’s Brightwood neighborhood, so detectives set up surveillance there Wednesday morning. They allegedly saw Gonzalez and Colon sell drugs to a woman in a car- later identified as Angelina Walker, 28, of Springfield. Some backup officers pulled Walker over and arrested her for heroin possession.

Meanwhile, other officers moved in and arrested Gonzalez and Colon, who Delaney says had heroin that were branded “Welcome Back” and “Rolex,” as well as the rocks of crack. Detectives also seized $290 in cash.

Colon and Gonzalez are charged with heroin distribution, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

All three suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Springfield District Court.
