East Longmeadow Police arrest teen accused of making bomb threats

The teen will be arraigned Friday in juvenile court

EAST LONGMEADOW, mass. (WWLP) – East Longmeadow Police have arrested a teenager accused of making multiple bomb threats at East Longmeadow High School.

East Longmeadow Police Sgt. Steven Manning said police arrested the 16 year-old boy Thursday afternoon.

The arrest follows a threat that was discovered at the high school Wednesday, when the phrase “Bomb at 12” was written on a bathroom wall.

An East Longmeadow High School student told 22News she’s relieved the teen was caught, and hopes that’s the end of these hoaxes.

“Now that the kid’s caught, we’ll have more time for education. I don’t know though, because maybe another kid will do it again,” said Madelyn Hayes.

Similar messages were left on the bathroom wall back in November 2015 and June of this year.

The teen will be arraigned Friday in juvenile court. He’s charged with three counts of making a false bomb threat and three counts of disturbing a school assembly.
