WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Westfield State University is holding a watch party for the presidential debate.
The watch party is being co-hosted by the communication and political science departments to help students learn more about the presidential candidates.
Organizers told 22News that this is the largest turnout they’ve ever had for a presidential debate.
There are more than 70 students at the viewing party. Students told 22News they are mostly here to educate themselves so they can make informed decisions at the polls.
So far we have heard Clinton talk about gender equality and paid family leave. Trump has emphasized the need to “stop having our jobs stolen.”
Many students told 22News they are interested in hearing both candidates positions on how they plan to make reforms and enforce policies if they were to be elected.
The watch party is in Scanlan Hall at Westfield State University.
