WASHINGTON (WWLP) – Members of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce had a productive morning, listening to lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Several local business leaders are in our nation’s capital to advocate for our local economy.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spoke with the group about the upcoming election, as well as campaign finance reform, and the importance of infrastructure investments.
Springfield Congressman Richard Neal, Cambridge Congressman Michael Capuano, and Georgia Congressman and civil rights pioneer John Lewis also all addressed the group. They all said that while Democrats and Republicans always have difference in ideology, they have always found ways to compromise, and they hope that after this election year, it will be easier than it has been.
22News reporter Kait Walsh is traveling with Chamber members, and will have their reactions to Thursday’s discussions tonight on 22News starting at 5:00.
