$1 million Powerball winner running out of time to claim prize

Ticket holder had matched 5-number combination, but didn't match Powerball

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Massachusetts State Lottery is looking for a $1 million winner; one who doesn’t have much time left to claim his or her prize.

Lottery spokesperson Christian Teja told 22News that the Powerball prize was won on September 26, 2015. The ticket had been sold at American Legion Post 420 on East Street in Springfield. The ticket holder had matched all five main numbers in the combination (23-31-42-50-57), but missed the Powerball of 5.

That ticketholder now only has until the close of business on Monday to claim his or her $1 million prize. The winner must claim the prize in person at lottery headquarters in Braintree.
