WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – People are very loyal about coming to The Big E, rain or shine, you can expect a crowd.

Rain? Not a problem. The Big E is the kind of fair that goes on, rain or shine.

Amy Stearans of New York told 22News this was her first time coming to the fair and she didn’t mind that it was raining; “Nope its fine, its fun to get away and do something different were enjoying ourselves, and the weather is “do-able.”

One thing you can definitely do rain or shine is eat food! “Fried Fresh Vetgetables” is a family business that sells fried vegetables, fried pickles, and fried corn dogs across the country. But they told 22News the Big E is their favorite. They still see a lot of people, even on a rainy day.

Zach Miller, from Indiana, told 22News, “Its a little slower obviously the people still come out, kind of unusual its the only fair we do that people come out rain or shine, its awesome.”

One resident from western Massachusetts told 22News she wouldn’t let the weather get in her way, Julianna Nives, from West Springfield, told 22News, “Get some kettle corn, see the buildings, and go to the circus.”

Everything is open and there are places you can take cover when it rains. Like our Voice Chair, it’s located behind the state buildings. You can sit in the chair and pretend you are one of the voice judges!
