Mass. State Police say no connection between Rahami and Massachusetts

Police will increase security at the Patriots game on Thursday

(WWLP) – Massachusetts State Police at the Commonwealth Fusion Center say they have checked identification information for Ahmad Khan Rahami, a person of interest in the recent explosions in New York, and found no connection between Rahami and the state of Massachusetts.

Massachusetts State Police said the identification for Rahami was checked against multiple databases and systems.

Further investigation by the CFC will be conducted if new intelligence about Rahami is developed. The CFC is continuing to monitor all developments in the investigation into the New York incident, as well as the incident in New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Minnesota.

The State Police will also enhance security for Thursday’s Patriots game at Gillette Stadium.

Massachusetts State Police troopers will increase frequency of patrols through public transit stations and regional transportation centers within their barracks jurisdictions, to increase Transit Police.
