Street flooding in Springfield caused cars to become stranded

Drivers should avoid Worthington Street, Armory Street, and Tapley Street in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Crews are working to free four cars that got stuck in a flooded area in Springfield Monday morning.

Springfield Police Captain Brian Keenan told 22News those cars were attempting to drive through Worthington and Armory Streets when they got stuck early Monday morning.

Crews are working to free the trapped cars, and reduce the levels of flooding in that area.

Our 22News crew could also see two cars that became stuck in flooding on Tapley Street in Springfield as well.

Captain Keenan said drivers should avoid Worthington Street, Armory Street, and Tapley Street in Springfield until further notice.
