NORTHFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Northfield Police are looking for the public’s help in locating a 66-year-old level 3 sex offender who is allegedly evading arrest.
On September 9, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Northfield resident Stephen Arsenault of 98 East Street, said Northfield police. Northfield Police Chief Robert Leighton told 22News that the warrant was issued for Arsenault’s arrest because he violated his probation.
Northfield Police said they received information on September 15 that Arsenault may be hiding in a wooded area near the Northfield golf course.
A search was conducted in the area with the assistance of the FCSO K-9 Unit, Mass. State Police, Hinsdale Police and Warwick Police, but Arsenault was not found, said Northfield Police.
Leighton said that there are officers are assigned to finding Arsenault, and they know he is somewhere in the area.
Northfield police say they have no reason to believe he is armed, but he should not be approached. If you see Arsenault, you are asked to call the Northfield Police at (413)-625-8200.
