Springfield Police: Man punched woman in the face & stole her money

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police arrested a man who allegedly punched a 41-year-old woman in the face and stole $200.00 from her.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News the woman came into the police station at 6:15 a.m. Thursday morning yelling, “I was just robbed! He punched me in the face and stole my money! Right down the street!”

Officers spotted the alleged suspect, Luis Paris, walking quickly near the corner of Federal Street and Worthington Street. Paris was taken into custody and was arrested after he was positively identified by the victim. The officers also recovered the victims’ money, said Delaney.

Paris was charged with unarmed robbery and assault and battery. He will be arraigned on Thursday in Springfield District Court.
